Street Markets

High Wycombe market is a diverse and vibrant community of creative makers, street food sellers and independent traders. Pick up fresh fruit and veg, home-made jam and household goods, or head over to the dedicated food court for a feast of quick eats. From Insta-inspired desserts to authentic Jamaican and Greek cuisine – this historic market has something for everyone.
Since first receiving its ‘Market Borough’ status in the early 13th Century, High Wycombe’s identity has long been defined by its ‘market town’ label. Having been in place for over 700 years, the town’s weekly charter market is one of the country’s oldest still in existence.
High Wycombe’s unique position as a main route between London & Oxford, meant the town quickly established itself as an ideal stopping point for weary travellers.
As the town’s industry grew, so did its population, and by the time High Wycombe’s famous furniture industry was established in the late 1800s, the town boasted over 13,000 residents, many of whom relied on the town’s market for their provisions.
The market’s historic origins can still be seen on the High Street today. Positioned in the ‘Corn Market’ and adjacent to the ‘Little Market House’, the market is now held three days a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.Â

With stalls offering staples including fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and household essentials, in recent years the market has been bolstered by clothing, handicraft and gift stalls, bespoke ingredients and an ever-changing selection of food trucks. From Indian, Jamaican and Lebanese dishes to trendy Vegan fare and Italian barista coffee, visitors and residents can enjoy a host of globally inspired cuisine. High Wycombe also plays host to a number of ‘Specialist Markets’ throughout the year:
The annual ‘Christmas Market’ is a fun-filled family celebration featuring musical entertainment, seasonal food and drink and a multitude of Christmas gift stalls.
A popular ‘Vegan Market’ is now a regular fixture on the calendar, visiting the town centre 3 times a year and bringing 30+ specialist retailers, offering a wide variety of Vegan & ethically produced foods, clothing, beauty and household items.
Market patrons can enjoy a varied and delicious array of cuisines available from Street Food market on normal market dates.
