Business Spotlight: Mad Squirrel
We recently sat down with Matt, the General Manager of Mad Squirrel on Church Street and spoke all things Pubs, High Wycombe and tried to get the secret recipe to their pizzas!

Could you tell us a little bit about your business for those who don’t know?
Absolutely! Mad Squirrel is a forward thinking, contemporary brewery based in nearby Hemel Hempstead. We’ve been around since 2010 and have grown and evolved to be proudly supplying many local bars in High Wycombe and the surrounding areas, as well as opening our own taproom right in the heart of Wycombe.
We want to be the best local pub and for us that means embodying the true meaning of pub – a home from home at the heart of a community! That means serving great quality food, drinks and being the best hosts we can be, whether that’s making the effort to learn your name, your favourite beer and taking the time to reccomend something new. It could also be going that extra mile to make your booking or event (in our upstairs private hire space) that bit extra special so you can relax and enjoy your night out.
Tell us a bit about your story working for Mad Squirrel in High Wycombe, what do you love about being here?
I’ve been working with Mad Squirrel for a year now and can’t speak highly enough of them. Our team love what they do and are well looked after meaning they can happily get on with making your night, the best night. I love working with a company that is always bringing out new beers, with new and innovative flavours and also gives it’s staff an allowance each month to try those products and take them home to their friends and family. We’re a close knit team of friends who love what we do and we believe that energy is infectious, our guests can feel that we genuinely want to be at the heart of this community
Any exciting upcoming plans/events or offers?
We love promoting local artists and so we have live music every Friday and Saturday night. Whether you like classic rock, a bit of smooth jazz or line dancing to some country – we’ve got a bit of everything for everyone.
We also host events during the week like our legendary open mic night, filled with up and coming talent. There’s also our Quiz night, one of our most popular nights of the month and live stand up comedy with new emerging talent and some all time greats popping in.
We’re also really proud of our pizzas. We make our dough and sauce in house, everyday and want as many people to enjoy them. To get people involved we are running a pizza and pint lunch deal for just £15 every Sunday – Thursday.
What other local ‘hidden gems’ would you recommend to any town centre visitors?
Our next door neighbour ‘Mezze Grill’ have a fantastic menu of fresh and delicious food. If you don’t fancy a pizza then pop next door and try them out before washing it down with a pint with us.
