High Wycombe Kicks Off Christmas With A ‘Festival of Fun’

A ‘Christmas Lights Festival’ is heading Wycombe on Saturday 18th November  –  12noon to 6pm

High Wycombe is set for ‘Super Saturday’ this November, with the annual Christmas Light Switch- On event moving to the weekend for the first time. Taking place on Saturday 18th November, the ‘Christmas Lights Festival’ has been moved to a prime time for the town centre, enabling more visitors than ever to take part in the festive fun.

The ‘Christmas Lights Festival’ kicks off from 12noon, with an exciting array of mouth-watering Food Trucks, festive games, children’s rides & entertainment, 25+ Christmas Gift & Charity Stalls lining the town centre streets. PLUS, there’ll be meet & greet sessions with Christmas grouch, The Grinch at 12noon, 1.30pm, 3pm & 4.30pm, a GIANT Snow Globe, AND an appearance from a certain Mr. Father Christmas.

With TWO Stages running throughout the day, there’ll be entertainment on both the High Street & Frogmoor, featuring live performances from over 15 different groups! The Blend Choir, Castle Street Dancers, Rock Choir, Stagecoach, All Saints Church Carol Singers, Orpheus Choir, Glee Choir & Dew Dance will be showing off some seasonal turns, as well as Marsh Infant & Nursery School and Downley School Choir taking a turn on the High Street Stage.

The ‘Switch On Ceremony’ will take at 5.15pm on the Frogmoor Stage – generously sponsored by Dandara Living – with Suzanne Shaw, leading lady from The Swan’s very own ‘Beauty & The Beast’ pantomime pressing the button, alongside High Wycombe’s esteemed Mayor Cllr Paul Turner.

With great festive fanfare & Christmas cheer, the town’s lights will officially be lit, and the Frogmoor Stage will be brought to a close by The Blend Choir. But the fun won’t be over just yet, there’ll still be plenty of food, festive fun & Christmas goodies to be enjoyed, until the event officially closes at 6pm.
