Dave Scott, co-author of book “High Wycombe’s Contribution to Aviation” visits Wycombe Museum to present a talk of the same name.
The talk covers events starting prior to WW1, including the birth of Geoffrey de Havilland, leading into aircraft manufacture in the town’s furniture factories during WW1. It covers events between the wars, including “Cobham’s Flying Circus” visits, Amy Johnson’s local residences and an airfield at Bourne End. The talk concludes with manufacture of aircraft in WW2, particularly the de Havilland Mosquito.
Tickets are free, but donations welcome. We suggest a minimum donation of £5 per person.
