Until Boris tells us otherwise, we’re destined to dine outdoors. But if, like us, you’re looking to embrace your cosmopolitan side and make the most of the fresh air, there’s a huge number of fabulous alfresco dining options available in High Wycombe town centre. From burgers and beers to luxury lounges – we’ve put together a run-down of the best outdoor eateries – perfect for basking in the spring sunshine.

Lata Lata The Underpass near Bucks New University

This town centre gem has installed the very bijou ‘Lata Lounge’ outside its cute little venue. Snuggle down under the heater with some big soft cushions and blankets – think Arabian nights meets hipster chic.

But a fabulous setting isn’t all this cosy little eatery has to offer.

As champions of local produce sourced from across The Chilterns, Lata Lata also offers a sensational menu of seasonal food, or as they like to say, small plates with big flavours! If you like good food with a Mediterranean twist, then head over to their website to book your space.

From £5 per dish. Outdoor dining – open Thursday – Saturday (5.30pm – 10pm) For more info visit www.latalata.co.uk

Café Roberto White Hart Street

New kids on the cuisine block, Café Roberto, have recently opened in White Hart Street, offering a delicious array of authentic Italian food.

From hearty brunches (served until 11.30am), to sumptuous pizzas, creamy pasta, and cheesy panninis, it’s a taste of all the best from the sunny shores of the Mediterranean.

There’s plenty of room for a relaxed luncheon on their terrace, so head on over and try them out before everyone else catches on.

Bluegrass BBQ – Pauls Row

Located in the heart of Pauls Row, these guys have already set up their alfresco pitch, dishing out some devilish BBQ at all hours of the day. Better yet, thanks to the new pedestrianisation plan in operation throughout the area (Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, 4:30pm to 9:30pm) this thriving independent can now set-up tables out on the street, bringing a continental café culture to the town centre every weekend.

High Wycombe’s own little slice of Americana is kind of a big deal, having previously won awards at the Jack Daniels Invitational BBQ Contest in Tennessee. Whether you’re craving ribs, beef brisket or pulled pork, you can’t go wrong with this low and slow smokehouse. Head on down for a taste of authentic America.
