Music, Culture & Art in High Wycombe Town Centre

Desborough Road will be alive with the sounds of Summer this Saturday 8th July, as the ‘Desborough Carnival’ returns to High Wycombe town centre, this year in conjunction with the team representing Aylesbury’s popular Whizz Fizz Fest.

The FREE town centre event, a celebration of music & culture, represents the very best of local performers, artists, with a busy line-up of creative classes, live storytelling, local choirs & musicians, giant games, giveaways and more.

Located centrally to Desborough Road, and in collaboration with Wycombe Arts Centre, and King’s Church, the entertainment will take place throughout the day, from 11am – 4pm, and with Desborough Road closed to traffic, especially for the occasion, there’ll be activities to enjoy along the whole street!

The Main Stage will be located adjacent to King’s Church, featuring performances from local groups including Castle Street Dancers, The Blend Choir and Irish Dance PLUS there’ll be live Storytelling sessions on-stage. Wycombe Arts Centre will also be hosting their own Acoustic Stage with live performances from local bands all day. A Kid’s Disco will keep the atmosphere lively with fun games & dance parties, plus there’ll be immersive ‘story theatre’ from creative organisation Cue34 in the ‘Friendship Tent’.

For those feeling peckish, there’ll be exceptional food offerings from Desborough Road favourites, including Burger Daddy & Uncle Sami’s, plus there’ll be face painting, stilt walking and even soft play for everyone to enjoy – the fun is never-ending, and it’s all FREE…

The HWBIDCo team are getting in the Carnival mood… “’Desborough Carnival’ has always been one of our favourite town centre events, and it’s really special to be able to celebrate High Wycombe’s amazingly talented community of artists, musicians and entertainers. We’ve loved working with Whizz Fizz Fest this year too, who’ve brought their own new fresh ideas to the event, and it’s great to have another opportunity to join forces with local organisations such as Wycombe Arts Centre and King’s Church. The weather is looking perfect this weekend, and we can’t wait to showcase Desborough Road at its finest – there’ll be great food, fabulous entertainment and hope to see lots of people joining us for another FREE family event in High Wycombe.
