HWBIDCo spoke with Adam the manager of The Snug, High Wycombe to get the insider knowledge – how they operate, what they offer and why they’re committed to doing the best for the cocktail lovers of High Wycombe.

Serving a mixture of classic and modern drinks. With bars in St Albans, High Wycombe, Hitchin, and Ware, we are unique in the area for our excellent cocktail skills!
We are located 7, Crown Lane, HP11 2HF or as people know it as Paul’s Row!
Our opening hours are as followed:
- Monday: 17:00 – 23:00
- Tuesday: 17:00 – 23:00
- Wednesday: 17:00 – 00:00
- Thursday: 17:00 – 00:00
- Friday: 15:00 – 02:00
- Saturday: 11:00 – 02:00
- Sunday: 16:00 – 00:00
1. Why was High Wycombe chosen as a destination for The Snug?
High Wycombe was chosen for one of the first venue to dip outside of our other Hertfordshire based locations, to engage within Buckinghamshire with the plans to open more around this area.
It’s greatly located in town with nearby facilities such as the Buckinghamshire New University and another great place like The Swan Theatre.
It’s my goal to make something of High Wycombe and provide a positive, friendly environment for people to feel safe in
2. What is the unique selling point and reason to visit The Snug?
The Snug over the years across the board has always had talented people and we are a company that is all about its people.
Inside or outside of work and I believe that shows when it comes to when we are open, we listen to our guests and their needs as much as it comes to our own.
The Snug has always had a large pride in terms of hospitality, and we only want our guests to be a part of that experience!
3. Are there any exciting upcoming events / plans or offers coming soon?
We have our DJs on Wednesdays for Student Nights – we’re looking to work with students to help them with collaborations for their accreditation, we are currently hosting live music events every Thursday at the moment!
Friday’s and Saturday’s we have our usual DJ’s on at the weekend.
Upcoming events that the staff and I are excited for is Halloween and Christmas!
We are doing a brand-new Halloween Menu which has a variety of our old cocktails that guests used to love – We are branding it as a resurrection menu!
We also have a Fall Menu accompanying this which has a large variety of delicious new cocktails made from our very own bartenders! Carla Nichol’s a very talented bartender we have in here in High Wycombe, who has an amazing brandy cocktail that is going on our Fall Menu.
Christmas we’re very happy to attend the Christmas Light Switch On!
It is something we love getting behind every year watching the magic happen and unfold.
This year we will be doing a few Winter cocktails accompanied by our traditional Mulled Wine & a new hot cocktail which is the ‘Apple & Cinnamon Warmer’.
To get the party started this Christmas we are starting up with a ‘Bronze’, ‘Silver’ and ‘Gold’ package which is based per person.

- 2 drinks from our package menu for £12 per person
- Silver
- 3 drinks from our package menu and a free shot for £18 per person
- Gold
- 5 drinks from our package menu and 2 free shots for £30 per person
We are providing Festive Cocktail Classes for £35 for 2 hours you will be trained on becoming a very talented bartender! You will have help around this with the tables decorated for the festive season as well as one of our very own bartenders providing you with the skills and the experience to become a Cocktail Expert this year!
We always have our 2-4-1 on selected cocktails, 3-4-10 on cocktail shots, as well as a 12-shot paddle of 4 different shot’s which come in batches of 3 for a total of £25.
Student deals currently we offer a 10% discount on cocktails that are outside of a promotion, as well on anything else. Wednesdays for students we are currently offering 2-4-1 on all cocktails, 4-4-£8 on Sourz shots and 3-4-£10 on bombs.
4. What local ‘hidden gem’ would you recommend to any town centre visitors (could be another local business, attraction or walk etc but must be in the town centre)
A hidden gem, I would say is Mad Squirrel they are always so friendly and very knowledgeable on their products, and I personally like their garden just as it feels different.
Most of the bars that are locally in town are super friendly and go out of their way to provide a good hospitable experience, places like O’Neil’s, Antelope are great places to go.
